It’s time to meet the masterminds behind this delightful (we hope) blog. And, in keeping with the entertainment theme, we thought we should probably introduce each other.
Four years and five days younger than me. And way more sassy. Her hair rivals a wild lion’s mane. She can crush you to death with her thighs thanks to her crossfit addiction. She loves cold refried beans. She has a very artistic eye and takes beautiful pictures. For some reason, she refuses to start a photography business. The world is missing out. She was thrown into the journey of being a wife and mother and has come a loooooong way in her homemaking skills. One time, she reheated a casserole in the oven with the plastic wrap still on. Then she asked if she could just scrape the melted plasticy-top layer off and eat it anyway. True story. Now days, she makes some pretty fancy meals. And she takes pretty pictures of her fancy meals. At least the food is benefiting from her photography talents. She’s an airhead. There is really no other way to put it. But I am the only person allowed to say that. Talk smack about her and I will sick her thighs of steel on you. I will leave you with this quote by Kristin. It’s a pretty perfect description of her.
“I’ve always had a feeling my life wasn’t going to be normal.” Kristin Gilmore
She didn’t even know how true that statement was when she said it, but we wouldn’t have her any other way.
Meet Katie, my favorite sister.
We are definitely complete opposites in every aspect of life. For example: she was a straight A student in school and I found other things more interesting.. like, anything. She liked books, I liked frogs. You get where I’m going. Fast forward to adulthood and things haven’t changed much. She likes to plan out everything. Especially her children’s birthdays. I’m pretty sure she started planning her child’s first birthday a few months after he was born. But to her credit the parties are always adorable. She should add professional planning to her long list of qualifications. She’s a pinterest guru and paleo cooking fanatic. If you need a paleo friendly recipe for anything, she’s your go to girl. One of the family’s most fond memories is of our Dear Katherine singing her Alabama songs. I’m not sure how much it soothed me as a baby but she trucked on with it anyway for the video cameras…and for that, I thank her. She has always been there for me when I needed advice or just someone to vent to and I feel lucky she’s my big sister… At least most of the time;)
