Bloggy. I’ve missed you. It would seem that I’m not very good at making time for you. And for that, I apologize. Maybe it will be a New Year’s resolution. Because let’s be real. Between Thanksgiving, Keller’s birthday, and Christmas, life will be slightly chaotic until then.
So, let’s catch up! I have a kid in pre-k. And that is crazy to me. I drop him off every day in his school uniform and he walks himself right into school with is little backpack and I just can’t even deal. He’s learning all kinds of amazing things. Just last night, he was practicing writing letters. He wrote the word “lies.” I think on accident. I don’t know. He was so proud of himself though.
Keller is about to be 3. Three years. How. How does that happen. How do babies grow so fast. He is the funniest kid. He is excellent at communicating with his eyebrows. And has the sweetest little voice. He loves singing songs. And sometimes he gets stuck on the same verse over and over. And it’s perfection. He is a big fan of snuggling. And rubbing my back and playing with my hair.
I’ve recently started co-leading a small group for college freshmen. One night a week, my house is filled with 21 of my favorite girls. These college girls in our group are just everything. They entertain us and teach us. The way they look at life is so refreshing and beautiful. Did y’all know scrunchies were cool again? I didn’t. But they are. And my co-leaders. Oh my goodness. Talk about God helping me find my people. I struggled with finding my people here since we moved back. I think God was just giving me time to really figure out who I was here and what I wanted for my family in Ruston. And then, I found the people who were like me and support me and get me. Seriously. This small group. (Technically it should probably be classified as a medium group). Babysitters Club Forever.
I can’t believe it’s almost Thanksgiving. Where does time go? Btw, guess who is done Christmas shopping? Yep. This girl. Go ahead. Throw things at me. Call me mean names. I’ll be too busy sipping hot chocolate and singing carols with my angelic children since my shopping is done. Actually, that’s not true. I’ll be busy planning and throwing a birthday party for my 3 year old then recovering from said birthday party. And working. And cooking. And cleaning. But hey, at least I won’t be frantically shopping for Christmas. Thanks, Amazon.
This weekend is mine and Ryan’s 6th wedding anniversary. It’s hard to believe. We’ve done so much in 6 years. We’ve had two babies and made a huge move across the country, basically starting our life over. Marriage is not what it appears to be on TV. It is a lot of hard work and boring stuff and more hard work. But it’s also an amazing adventure and time of growth. I’ve learned so much about myself as a woman, wife, mother, Christian through my marriage. So Ryan, when you read this in a few weeks after I kindly remind you I finally blogged again, happy late anniversary, husband. You da best.
